About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Tend individual machinery associated with proofing, pressing, docking, baking, de-panning, and pan loading in bakery processing areas
  • Load and unload pans from conveyors and carts
  • Monitor and operate proofers, presses, dockers, ovens, depanners, conveyors, the COP tank, and Mallet oiler
  • Set up and break down processing equipment
  • Set programs and settings on equipment and associated panels
  • Monitor and adjust conveyor systems using control screens, panels, and switches
  • Ensure products meet appearance, dimensional, physical, and customer specifications
  • Label, color-code, and properly handle containers
  • Record pertinent information at prescribed intervals
  • Prepare equipment for changeovers and start-ups
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
  • Report product-specification deviations to the Line Lead or Supervisor
  • Meet management goals related to changeover times, downtime, and equipment maintenance
  • Suggest ways to control labor and supply costs and improve processes
  • Perform work according to quality, safety, legal, and food-safety requirements
  • Identify and report potential hazards
  • Contribute continuous-improvement ideas
  • Promote resource efficiency, recycling, and pollution prevention
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • English proficiency
  • 6 months of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment (preferred)
  • Comfortable with physical labor
  • Attention to detail
  • Adaptable
  • Comfortable working with machinery
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Mindful of safety practices
  • No visa sponsorship available
