About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Improve the reliability and performance of assets within the Aero Department
  • Use maintenance systems, data and continuous improvement methods to reduce recurring losses and strengthen planned maintenance
  • Support the factory’s long-term maintenance strategy
  • Identify and manage reliability risks using factory data
  • Translate the factory maintenance strategy into departmental plans
  • Lead root cause analysis and improvement activity to reduce stoppages and prevent recurrence
  • Support the expansion of Total Productive Maintenance by coaching technicians, craft colleagues, apprentices and operators
  • Help maintain Good Manufacturing Practice, quality, engineering change management and line-release requirements
  • Build specialist knowledge of process-specific equipment
  • Contribute to line and maintenance working group improvements
  • Work closely with maintenance planners, technicians and operational colleagues to build departmental capability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance, or an equivalent recognised qualification
  • Completion of a modern advanced engineering apprenticeship, or equivalent practical training
  • Experience of analysing breakdowns and using structured problem-solving methods to improve equipment reliability
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain progress in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to influence, coach and work effectively with colleagues at different levels, while also using your own initiative
  • Knowledge of SAP for maintaining plans and schedules (desirable)
  • Knowledge of DMAIC, Lean and fishbone analysis (desirable)
  • Exposure to Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers (desirable)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (desirable)
  • HNC, HND or BEng in a relevant engineering discipline (desirable)
  • Experience of working with automated processes and programmable logic controllers (desirable)
