About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain manufacturing and processing equipment to meet production requirements and performance targets
  • Coordinate Engineering resources as the Process SME
  • Ensure compliance with OHSACT, work permits, LOTO, and company requirements
  • Ensure safe machinery operation and safe working conditions in and around the factory
  • Organize and execute statutory plant requirements
  • Lead and coordinate planned maintenance for factory equipment, services, and buildings
  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities, including tracking, reporting, and escalation
  • Install, service, repair, and troubleshoot equipment
  • Identify skills gaps and coach maintenance staff
  • Ensure machine reliability and availability support production targets
  • Perform administrative tasks related to Maintenance, Problem Solving, TPM, and Safety
  • Lead and participate in TPM activities
  • Resolve instrumentation, automation, electrical, and mechanical faults
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance shutdowns
  • Revise maintenance plans, equipment schedules, and checklists
  • Manage spare parts and complete AMM, SHE, TPM, line efficiency, work-order, and SHE audit tasks
  • Conduct Loss Tree Analysis and implement root-cause corrective actions
  • Lead problem solving, fault finding, and BDA on equipment
  • Analyze operational losses and implement maintenance strategy tools and countermeasures
  • Obtain and present OEM and specialist vendor quotations and recommendations
  • Create and follow up on purchase requisitions and monitor spending against budget
  • Coach and train technicians and operators
  • Foster continuous improvement and share manufacturing best practices
  • Leverage AMM Mobile and predictive maintenance analytics
  • Own a development plan and support new members through training, coaching, and feedback

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of N6 Certificate or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Served an Apprenticeship and qualified with a Trade Test Certificate
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in the Mechanical field and Maintenance
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Computer literate, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, and AMM
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance practices
  • Supportive and able to effect Change Management
