About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment
  • Keep machines in good working condition to improve efficiency and prevent malfunctions
  • Coach associates on safety issues, machine operation, and maintenance practices
  • Apply lockout/tagout, fall protection, PPE, and other mandatory safety procedures
  • Participate in cross-functional Root Cause Analysis problem-solving projects
  • Adhere to SOPs and cGMPs to support product quality and quantity
  • Clean and lubricate machinery, perform diagnostic tests, and assess damaged parts
  • Provide emergency and scheduled production-equipment repairs
  • Construct, fabricate, test, assemble, and install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
  • Troubleshoot control cabinets, PC boards, relays, I/O modules, VFDs, PIDs, indicators, transducers, and related electronics
  • Inspect, repair, test, modify, and replace mechanical machinery and components
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam equipment
  • Perform additional trade work such as welding, carpentry, and plumbing as needed
  • Monitor and maintain boilers, air compressors, air conditioning, dust collectors, and other plant utilities
  • Identify and correct energy losses
  • Use technical manuals, workbooks, drawings, and equipment knowledge to diagnose problems
  • Document inspections and maintenance activities
  • Keep maintenance, parts, supplies, and work areas clean and organized
  • Train lower-level associates and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of maintenance professional experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Mechanical/electrical trade background, Journeyman, or equivalent technical school background desired
  • Working knowledge of CMMS strongly recommended
  • Technical degree or equivalent preferred
  • Basic knowledge of CMMS and ability to use reports to identify machine-performance trends and opportunities
  • Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings and generate rough sketches
  • Advanced mathematical and reading skills and willingness to handle paperwork
  • Ability to use standard hand tools, power tools, and machine shop tools
  • Knowledge of electrical and electromechanical principles
  • Ability to use electrical test meters and an oscilloscope
  • Root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to operate lathes, mills, drill presses, and welding machines
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and provide mentorship
