About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead recipe creation, reformulation, rapid prototyping, and vendor relationship management
  • Work hands-on with pilot plants, internal and external factories, and manufacturing facilities
  • Deliver Innovation & Renovation business objectives
  • Build consumer insights and represent products in cross-functional settings with Marketing, Sales, and Finance
  • Lead product development, commercialization, optimization, and renovation
  • Implement Innovation & Renovation strategies for supported product categories
  • Develop, implement, and execute bench-top, pilot-plant, and factory product/process development activities
  • Serve as technical lead, steering projects to meet timing, COGS, and consumer objectives
  • Formulate products, reduce complaints, mitigate risks, and ensure controls match the gold standard
  • Act as the factory point of contact for technical solution implementation
  • Collaborate with R&D, Product Development, Project Management, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, Packaging, Factories, Marketing, Co-Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Supply Chain
  • Guide factory, R&D, and Engineering resources on equipment and product knowledge
  • Optimize products and processes and lead technical assistance, sourcing, quality, compliance, and cost-saving projects
  • Establish timelines, identify roadblocks and critical paths, and manage resource constraints
  • Ensure adherence to product, process, material, Nestlé, external, and regulatory standards
  • Apply HACCP and food safety fundamentals, onboard materials, validate allergens/claims, and assess process capability
  • Develop product and process mastership, competencies, and training materials
  • Provide first-line factory support for ingredients, recipes, and processing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS or MS degree in Food Science, Bakery Science, Food Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
  • Approximately 25–35% travel
  • Minimum 3 years of product or process development experience in CPG or related field (preferred)
  • Experience in bakery, confectionery, baking science, cereal science/chemistry, and food science
  • Demonstrated experience developing bakery, cookies, and/or chocolate and confectionery items
  • Hands-on baking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performing environment with autonomy
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and assignments
  • Project management skills and capabilities
  • Interpersonal, presentation, oral, and written communication skills
  • Networking and stakeholder management skills
  • Critical thinking, goal orientation, adaptability, and ability to manage ambiguity
  • Not eligible for visa sponsorship
