About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage personnel and plant operations to meet customer needs safely and efficiently
  • Lead 25 team members
  • Coach, mentor, support, and train team members
  • Conduct regular floor walks and support plant production and quality
  • Maintain communication with management for efficient production-floor workflow
  • Serve as subject matter expert on safe evacuation of products from tanks
  • Operate and oversee pumps, mixers, filters, and lift trucks
  • Monitor overtime, equipment and material usage, personnel issues, productivity, quality, and project progress
  • Collaborate with Quality Control on quality issues and preventative measures
  • Follow quality assurance instructions for product-batch sampling
  • Attend safety meetings, report incidents and accidents, and reinforce plant safety policies
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and safety and environmental regulations
  • Facilitate transition meetings between outgoing and incoming supervisors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 5+ years of related manufacturing or production experience and/or training in a similar environment
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory position
  • Supervisory/managerial skill set
  • Strong coaching abilities
  • Problem-solving and change implementation skills
  • Planning experience and interest in continuous improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SAP strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Effective communication skills with management, customers, and vendors
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
