About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical leadership by identifying, developing, and executing plant capital projects
- Develop pre-project approval documents, project charters, management plans, estimates, and milestone schedules
- Monitor design progress and project deliverables
- Coordinate bid package development and release projects for construction bidding and field execution
- Select contractors and contracting methods
- Direct installation, construction, and commissioning
- Manage project scope, change approvals, budgets, cost forecasts, cash-flow projections, and status reports
- Maintain integrated project milestone schedules
- Manage project data collection and feedback
- Monitor compliance with quality and GMP requirements under FDA and OSHA regulations
- Provide construction management and plant startup assistance
- Evaluate, select, and issue construction contracts through bidding and prequalification
- Manage assigned projects end-to-end with minimal supervision
- Monitor less senior engineers' work output
- Provide technical support to factory operations
- Support Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Total Performance Management (TPM)
- Promote absolute intolerance for unsafe situations and assess impacts on product quality, people safety, and the environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Ability to analyze data
- Ability to use problem-solving techniques to resolve issues and implement change
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to complete major projects in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to schedule resources effectively
- 3+ years managing capital projects with increasing responsibility and complexity in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment preferred
- 3+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment preferred
- Experience using SAP and/or Microsoft Project preferred
- TPM experience preferred
- Subject matter expertise in process, packaging, refrigeration, or another engineering field receives additional consideration
- Must not require visa sponsorship
