About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical leadership by identifying, developing, and executing factory capital projects
- Maintain visibility into the design process and ensure project deliverables and key components are met
- Develop project charters, project management plans, estimates, and milestone schedules
- Coordinate bid package development and release projects for construction bidding and field execution
- Select contractors and contracting methods
- Direct installation, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects
- Manage project scope and obtain approval for project changes
- Control project budgets, cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and monthly project status reports
- Maintain integrated project milestone schedules
- Manage project data collection and feedback
- Monitor compliance with quality and GMP requirements, FDA, and OSHA regulations
- Provide construction management and plant startup assistance
- Evaluate, select, and issue construction-firm contracts
- Manage assigned projects end to end with minimal supervision
- Monitor less senior engineers’ work output
- Provide technical support to factory operations
- Support Nestlé Continuous Excellence and Total Performance Management initiatives
- Coordinate with clients and internal and external organizational groups
- Travel 70–80%
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor degree within engineering
- Minimum 7 years of related work experience
- 7+ years experience managing capital projects with increasing responsibility and complexity in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment
- Weekend/holiday work may occasionally be required
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Ability to analyze data
- Ability to use problem-solving techniques to resolve issues and implement change
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to complete major projects in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to schedule resources effectively
- Preferred: Experience using SAP and/or Microsoft Project
- Preferred: TPM experience
- Additional consideration for subject matter expertise in process, packaging, refrigeration, or another engineering field
- Must be eligible to work without visa sponsorship
