About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform and coordinate laboratory processes
  • Register and prepare samples through data entry, weighing, and physical homogenization
  • Prepare and perform routine to complex analyses according to NQAC methods
  • Read and record analytical results, maintaining correct sample identification
  • Occasionally review and approve analytical testing results
  • Operate laboratory equipment including balances, pH meters, and autoclaves
  • Prepare and verify standards and reagents
  • Generate, record, and calculate data
  • Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory and department area
  • Interpret preliminary data or observations and draft short reports for supervisors
  • Perform quality assurance activities, including maintaining QA documents, plans, and ICPs
  • Document QA data and report to leads or management
  • Maintain equipment and make capable repairs or request repairs
  • Identify and resolve process problems
  • Participate in or lead Lean Laboratory initiatives
  • Assist with writing, reviewing, and documenting processes or methods
  • Attend assigned internal and external training
  • Train other associates as experience and job needs dictate

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Undergraduate degree in a closely related science preferred (Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, etc.)
  • Relevant academic coursework or 1 year practical relevant experience in an analytical laboratory preferred
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • English language skills: basic reading, writing, and speaking
  • Ability to perform trained tasks at an above-base-level efficiency pace
  • Ability to review and synthesize conclusions from analytical data
  • Ability to execute non-routine tasks with little supervision
  • Ability to comply with NQAC SOPs and safety regulations
