About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, coordinate and execute Safety, Health and Environment strategies across the Nestlé Development Center
  • Provide leadership across the facility to support SHE goals, safety culture behaviors, and compliance with government regulations and Nestlé policy
  • Promote understanding of Nestlé SHE values and a behavioral approach to SHE
  • Identify SHE priorities, challenges, and opportunities; develop and communicate holistic strategies and implementation plans
  • Guide implementation and continuous improvement of SHE standards and programs
  • Ensure the local S&H management system is certified to OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2004
  • Train and coach managers and team leaders in SHE responsibilities
  • Provide coaching and support to the NDC Leadership Team
  • Develop and coordinate SHE networks of professionals, champions, and subject matter experts
  • Develop functional and leadership competencies and succession plans for key SHE positions
  • Provide managers with guidance and support on SHE matters
  • Coordinate internal and external resources for exposure monitoring, health promotion, health surveillance, life cycle assessment, and training
  • Monitor and analyze performance to improve decision-making
  • Coordinate audits and performance assessments and use results to drive improvement
  • Communicate successes and learnings and recognize strong performers
  • Engage external stakeholders and participate in external forums to benchmark practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. degree in a safety, environmental or similar discipline required
  • NEBOSH S&H IGC (or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in SH&E leadership related roles within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Experience with the full range of SHE risks and impacts and their management
  • Experience with personal health risk factors and health promotion
  • Understanding of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 requirements
  • Good understanding of Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing Systems and Supply Chain
  • Experience analyzing complex problems and identifying multiple root causes
  • Experience influencing behavioral change in a team or department
  • Experience working in and leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience translating policies and standards into practical action plans
  • Experience coaching individuals and teams in different environments
  • Experience working in an operational environment
  • Excellent transversal leadership and group and individual engagement skills
  • Effective communication skills with different organizational levels
  • Ability to take a proactive approach to anticipated issues and process improvement
