About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support for the Savannah factory’s electrical, automation, instrumentation, and process control systems
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve manufacturing and utility control systems
- Follow safety, environmental, quality, food safety, and GMP requirements
- Adhere to Lockout/Tagout and electrical safe work practices
- Support electrical safety audits, machine safety improvements, quality initiatives, and audits
- Maintain change control documentation
- Participate in OT cybersecurity and controls lifecycle management
- Maintain and troubleshoot motor controls, MCCs, power distribution systems, control panels, AC/DC equipment, VFDs, and soft starters
- Interpret electrical schematics and control drawings; maintain electrical documentation and as-built drawings
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
- Support Rockwell ControlLogix, FactoryTalk, PowerFlex and Kinetix Drives, and Cognex vision systems
- Perform approved PLC and HMI modifications
- Develop and enhance automation strategies
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial instrumentation, control valves, and pneumatic valves
- Support calibration programs and documentation
- Troubleshoot fieldbus, industrial Ethernet, DeviceNet, ASi, and Ethernet/IP IO networks
- Troubleshoot communications between PLCs, HMIs, drives, instrumentation, and MES systems
- Support digitalization initiatives, data historians, and manufacturing system improvements
- Assist with OT cybersecurity and access control
- Perform root cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions
- Analyze recurring equipment failures and recommend long-term solutions
- Support TPM, predictive maintenance, and reliability improvement initiatives
- Document work orders and maintenance history in CMMS systems
- Assist with capital projects, equipment modernization, commissioning, and vertical start-up of new production assets
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, or related field; or equivalent industrial experience
- 3+ years of industrial electrical, instrumentation, or automation experience
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-based systems
- Ability to read electrical drawings, P&IDs, and control schematics
- Experience in food, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environments
- Experience with Rockwell Automation platforms, FactoryTalk, Wonderware/AVEVA, industrial networking, and SAP PM or other CMMS systems
- Instrument calibration experience
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
- PLC, HMI, and VFD diagnostics
- Instrumentation and calibration expertise
- Strong understanding of industrial networking
- Root cause analysis and problem solving
- Ability to train operators and maintenance technicians
- Project support and technical documentation skills
