About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage factory engineering activities and provide professional engineering and strategic technical leadership
- Ensure people health and safety, product safety, and environmental protection
- Define and monitor Factory Engineering team plans and objectives according to Nestlé engineering policies and standards
- Set the factory’s technical strategic vision and cascade objectives to engineering leaders within cost targets
- Develop technical competencies through action plans, talent reviews, career planning, and succession planning
- Drive equipment reliability through maintenance foundations and TPM
- Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to build world-class operations
- Improve maintenance cost structure, technical skills, and third-party spending
- Implement Nestlé’s capital process and execute the capital market business strategy
- Drive factory master planning for long-term safety, quality, warehouse, and operational strategies
- Ensure utilities systems comply with governing bodies at the Modesto site
- Develop internal capabilities for utilities systems management
- Execute plant sustainability objectives and world-class water management
- Drive reliability of factory electrical components and develop the factory automation plan
- Ensure compliance with Nestlé standards, including calibration
- Coordinate innovation and renovation involving new processes and technologies
- Implement strategic technical OMP and factory master plans
- Manage engineering costs and technical execution plans
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS), preferably in Engineering, including Mechanical, Chemical, or Process; experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- At least 10 years of related work experience strongly preferred
- At least 3+ years of leadership/management experience
- Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety, and hygienic engineering (OSH&R) preferred
- Understanding of financial analysis and business drivers including Nestlé Standard Costing, AMM, CAPEX budgeting and preparation (CIAT), and Industrial Services/Energy Management (NEMT)
- Familiarity with TPM and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Visio, CDM, AMM, ESAT, CIAT, NEMT, and similar technical tools/systems
- In-depth knowledge of food processing plant operations, technologies, utilities, maintenance systems, and hygienic engineering requirements (OSH&R)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and technical creativity
- Effective communication and networking skills; ability to perform under pressure and in ambiguous environments
- Experience in Project Engineering/Management, including plant design and construction
- Must not require visa sponsorship
