About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead product development activities delivering innovative and competitive products, processes, and systems in response to business needs
- Develop products using innovative ingredients and processes informed by consumer and technical insights
- Manage bench and pilot plant trials through factory scale-up
- Ensure products comply with 60/40+ and other corporate guidelines and agreed timelines
- Work in project teams across R&D, Application Groups, Markets, Factories, and Business Units
- Participate in Application Group training and present in Product Development workshops
- Document product development activities through the Launch (I2L) process
- Communicate findings to stakeholders and partners
- Apply intellectual asset management practices, including Freedom to Operate, Prior Art, and Protection Strategy
- Ensure compliance
- Travel domestically and internationally to client sites up to 10% for product industrialization support and training
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Food Science, Food Technology, or a closely related field plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or closely related occupation in the food and beverage industry; alternatively, Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in the same fields plus 3 years of experience
- 1 year of experience in project management in research and development
- Product development experience across food and beverage formulation and processing, including laboratory experience creating dairy and non-dairy emulsions
- Experience using ingredients to create emulsions
- Experience conducting scientific literature reviews, including patents, technologies, and IP Management
- Experience in sensory evaluation of food and beverage products
- Experience monitoring and determining product shelf-life under various conditions
- Experience defining test methods for shelf-life determination of emulsion-based products
- Experience using Design of Experiments and SAP in food and beverage trial management within pilot plant and industrial settings
- Experience creating written product recipes and specifications
- Experience in product trial processes
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to support new product development and introduction
- Experience with consumer and sensory insight methodologies for emulsion-based product development
- Experience with contract development and management for external R&D partnerships
