About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and deliver technical training programs for upskilling, apprenticeship, and maintenance trainee programs
- Facilitate classroom, hands-on, and virtual training sessions
- Assess training needs and improve program effectiveness
- Provide one-on-one coaching and employee support
- Maintain training records and track employee progress
- Partner with subject matter experts to keep training content current and effective
- Foster an engaging and positive learning environment
- Demonstrate maintenance principles and troubleshooting
- Train and coach operators in equipment operation
- Transfer basic maintenance skills to production teams
- Understand machine operations and drive standards that sustain line performance
- Promote safety policies, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)
- Participate in shift handoffs, KPIs, Manufacturing Excellence initiatives, and GSTD activities
- Perform safety and quality risk assessments
- Ensure cleanliness, documentation accuracy, and adherence to company standards
- Enter work order notifications and complete required documentation
- Provide peer coaching and support team development
- Assist with break/lunch coordination and team communication
- Contribute feedback on employee performance during 30/60/90-day reviews
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience in technical training or maintenance
- Previous experience as a technical trainer or in a similar role preferred
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt training methods to various learning styles
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Experience with learning systems such as Poka and iLearn
- Familiarity with MES/Globe systems preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to obtain tow motor and scissor lift certification
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally
- Ability to work in varied physical positions, including stooping, kneeling, and crouching
- Flexibility to support second and third shifts, including early mornings and offshifts
