About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Clean, sanitize, and assemble equipment in an acceptable sanitary fashion within established time frames during washdowns and panwash
- Maintain sanitary conditions on the production floor
- Remove trash, food waste, and cardboard
- Assist with production break and lunch rotations
- Work on the sanitation crew during 2nd shift
Requirements
What you’ll need- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- 90 days of food manufacturing experience working in a Nestlé factory preferred
- Understand verbal and written instructions in English
- Follow safety rules and procedures, including wearing safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses where appropriate
- Observe Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and USDA policies
- Push dumpsters weighing up to 1500 lbs. up to 300 yards, 5 to 10 times per shift
- Lift refuse barrels weighing up to 300 lbs. up to 2 feet off the ground
- Transport oneself around work areas on uneven, wet, and slippery concrete surfaces
- Work every scheduled day and arrive by the scheduled starting time
- Follow the EPSU training guide
- Communicate effectively with support groups, supervisors, and team members
- Detect and understand warning lights, buzzers, alarms, and instruments indicating hazardous conditions
- Work in a wet environment involving steam and water hoses
- Grip/use a low-pressure hot water hose/nozzle with 80–100 lbs. of pressure for 30 minutes to 1 hour
- Lift/pull 40–60 lbs. at floor level for 2 feet
- Lift up to 60 lbs. from floor level to 3 feet
- Use hand tools, open and close valves, and operate switches and buttons
- Climb and descend ladders
- Work in temperatures from 35°F to 100°F
- Understand verbal and written safety and chemical handling instructions
- Possess manual dexterity and strength to operate high-pressure hoses and use tools for equipment disassembly and reassembly
