About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Purchase, receive, store, issue, and track spare parts, tools, materials, and equipment
- Work safely in a manufacturing environment and use required PPE
- Issue inventory items by looking up parts in SAP, locating stock, recording checkouts, and issuing items in SAP
- Write breakdown work orders in AMM
- Create purchase requisitions in SAP and request supplier quotes
- Receive, inspect, inventory, label, and store incoming shipments
- Monitor radio calls for breakdowns, parts requests, and deliveries
- Deliver parts to mechanics to minimize downtime
- Operate a forklift to unload trucks
- Manage universal waste storage
- Prepare repairs for pickup or shipment
- Conduct inventory cycle counts
- Keep the tool crib clean and organized
- Assist mechanics with purchase requests and recommended min/max stock levels
- Deliver MSDS documents to the plant nurse
- Maintain manuals and vendor catalogs
- Follow factory management systems for human safety, food safety, and environmental management
- Report incidents and unsafe conditions and maintain regulatory compliance
- Review historical data to adjust min/max stock levels
- Maintain positive working relationships with team members and departments
- Complete required training and perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education
- Minimum 1 year related and verifiable work experience may be substituted for education
- Similar experience supporting stock room, tool crib, or related preferred
- Basic PC skills
- Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Ability to multitask while working safely in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with team members at all levels in a courteous and professional manner
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to use good judgment to make sound decisions
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Must follow safety, food safety, environmental, plant, and regulatory requirements
