About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and implement backend services using Python, with a focus on performance, scalability, and high availability.
  • Develop, integrate, and maintain REST APIs for web applications and external partner systems.
  • Work with AWS services, particularly Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, Amazon EC2, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon SQS.
  • Develop and enhance integration solutions, ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency in data processing.
  • Optimize algorithms, data structures, application performance, and the use of computing resources.
  • Create, maintain, and update API contracts and OpenAPI Specifications (OAS).
  • Apply development best practices, including secure programming, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), and clean code principles.
  • Develop and maintain unit and integration tests using test-driven development (TDD) practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, contributing to the quality and standardization of deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA professionals, designers, and Product Managers.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical discussions, and decisions related to architecture and solution evolution.
  • Ensure the ongoing maintenance and evolution of services to meet business needs and technical requirements.
  • Contribute to web applications and integrations with external partners that facilitate the creation of quotes and the placement of orders with Autodesk.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience developing applications with Python.
  • Hands-on experience developing, implementing, and maintaining REST APIs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with AWS services, particularly Amazon S3 and AWS Lambda.
  • Experience with GitHub and code version control, including development workflows and promoting changes across environments.
  • Knowledge of OpenAPI Specifications (OAS) and API documentation.
  • Experience with or solid knowledge of developing highly available backend services.
  • Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Experience optimizing applications and using computing resources efficiently.
  • Knowledge of SaaS architectures and cloud-based applications.
  • Strong spoken and written English communication skills for interaction with international teams and professionals.
  • Experience with Amazon EC2, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon SQS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of scalable, fault-tolerant distributed architectures is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins is a plus.
  • Experience with automated testing, including unit and integration testing, and TDD practices is a plus.
  • Experience with code reviews and software engineering best practices is a plus.
  • A postgraduate degree or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is desirable.
