About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
Lead month-end close activities for designated business areas
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial records
Analyse monthly financial performance against budget and forecast, providing commentary and insights into variances and business drivers
Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting cycles
Monitor financial performance against targets and identify risks and opportunities
Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge
Translate financial information into recommendations for non-finance audiences
Deliver ad hoc analysis and reporting
Monitor KPIs and identify trends
Provide profitability analysis and cost management insights
Support working capital and cash flow optimisation initiatives
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and financial regulations
Support internal and external audit activities
Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting quality
Contribute to finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in integration of future acquisitions and system transformation initiatives
Travel occasionally within the UK

Requirements

What you’ll need

Fully qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA)
Proven post-qualification experience, ideally in a commercial finance or group finance role
Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
Intermediate / advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Excellent understanding and working knowledge of accounting and reporting systems, applicable legislation and the statutory and regulatory framework
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Experience preparing budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and deadlines
Results-driven with a continuous improvement mindset
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
