About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide IT services covering desktop, mobile, infrastructure, and application management
- Monitor compliance with IT standards and processes
- Use established metrics and KPIs to help improve IT service delivery
- Assist with operating, supporting, and improving ITIL processes, including Change Management, Configuration/Inventory Management, Incident and Problem Management, and Request Fulfilment
- Publish and maintain ITSM-related process workflows and procedure documents
- Improve the IT Service Catalog
- Test and implement new systems
- Function as backup to other department roles
- Provide rotational after-hours on-call support
- Monitor critical systems to maintain continuous IT service availability
- Resolve complex technical problems and provide expert technical assistance to internal users
- Train and support technology users across the enterprise
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s degree required
- Minimum 4 years of directly related experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with minimum 2 years of Information Technology experience preferred
- May require certifications and licensures needed to meet Energy industry, federal, state, or local regulations
- Experience following ITIL processes and procedures, including ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy
- Experience supporting Windows and MacOS operating systems
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 products, including SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams
- Experience with end-user compute devices and peripherals, including laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, and mobile device configuration
- Experience supporting software applications, Active Directory, and Remote Desktop Tools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Skilled in understanding and managing risks appropriately
- Strong aptitude to learn and adapt to new technologies, methods, processes, and procedures
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 40 lbs. regularly
- Considerable bending and crawling may be required for hardware installations
- Ability to support rotational after-hours on-call work
- Ability to travel to other NYPA sites as required
- Work authorization note: NYPA accepts a standard 12-month F-1 OPT visa for certain roles but cannot support the F-1 STEM OPT extension
