About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work alongside the Director of Business Assurance to help NZTE achieve its goals through effective risk management and decision support
Provide internal audit and risk advisory services
Perform audit work across internal teams domestically and internationally
Advise on risk matters and continue building NZTE's risk maturity
Build and maintain relationships with key leaders and experts across NZTE
Work with the Director of Business Assurance, Lead Team and Board's Audit and Risk Committee
Support effective and safe organisational operations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience working in professional services or in an organisation's internal audit or risk management team
Ability to advise on complex risk and assurance matters to varied audiences
Strong influencing skills at senior management level, including the Lead Team, Chief Executive and Audit and Risk Committee
Comfortable making decisions and working independently
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to build trusted relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
Ideally, a degree in a management or finance discipline
Ideally, professional auditing or accounting qualifications such as Institute of Internal Auditors or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand qualifications, or equivalent
Right to work in New Zealand
