About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary Marketing and Communications business partner for two sector teams in North America
- Embed with Trade Commissioners and Business Development Managers to build trusted relationships
- Lead MarComs delivery, including events, trade missions, conference booths, campaigns, and integrated marketing initiatives
- Connect sector teams with research, digital solutions, content, and event management specialists
- Handle region-wide marketing and communications responsibilities, including trade media, social media, or brand presence
- Develop marketing approaches for major conference activations
- Help implement sector growth plans
- Develop targeted content and collateral to help New Zealand exporters succeed in North America
- Travel regularly to appointed regional offices and potentially to special events and trade shows across North America
- Tie marketing activity to commercial priorities and move ideas from discussion to delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Solid experience in marketing, communications, event marketing, account management, or related customer-facing roles
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Exceptional relationship-building skills
- Ability to influence, collaborate, and build trust across a range of stakeholders
- Strong commercial curiosity and judgement
- Proven project management skills
- Ability to move initiatives from idea to execution while balancing competing priorities
- Comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to thrive under pressure
- Existing authorization to work in Canada for the full term of the opportunity
