About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own enterprise data governance strategy, policy, and the federated stewardship model
- Co-chair the Data Governance Council with Quality Assurance
- Own metadata, business glossary, and end-to-end lineage across clinical, commercial, and corporate data
- Lead the data quality program and report domain scorecards to the executive team
- Own master data end to end across clinical, commercial, and regulatory domains
- Define GxP readiness for the data layer, including validated-zone criteria and boundaries
- Govern the data management practice and platform data layer
- Establish modeling standards and SLAs for certified data products
- Govern the CRO and vendor data supply chain
- Participate hands-on in architecture reviews, access model design, and data quality investigations
- Lead the commercial data foundation ahead of the US launch
- Govern controls behind transparency reporting and the commercial–medical firewall
- Oversee partner data interfaces for net sales, channel, and safety data exchange
- Establish data governance for AI, including provenance, model input controls, and EU AI Act readiness
- Translate Security, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and QA obligations into implementable data controls
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8–10 years in data governance, data management, or data platform leadership
- Demonstrated experience leading teams
- Life sciences experience
- Familiarity with GxP data integrity, including Part 11, Annex 11, and ALCOA+
- Experience designing and standing up an enterprise data governance program
- Hands-on master data ownership
- Current depth in a modern cloud data platform
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Working fluency in SQL and dbt or equivalent
- Experience delivering governance from outside IT
- Experience getting business owners to accept accountability for data without direct authority
- Ability to attend the NAP office in the Philadelphia area in person based on business needs and work requirements
- Preferred: experience designing GxP readiness into a platform ahead of validation, maintaining a validated system in a cloud and agile context, a first commercial launch or clinical-to-commercial transition, CDISC standards and CRO data flows, commercial pharma data, GDPR at scale and privacy operations at the data layer, SOX ITGC, and CDMP or equivalent
