About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the continued development, implementation, operation, and oversight of the Company’s compliance program
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Commercial leadership and engage early in commercial strategy development
  • Identify and assess compliance considerations and develop practical, compliant approaches to business objectives
  • Report periodically to senior leadership and the Board of Directors or its committees on the compliance program and key risks
  • Champion a culture in which compliance is integrated into business decision-making
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and serve as a trusted advisor
  • Develop, implement, and review compliance policies, procedures, standards, and business processes
  • Develop and oversee compliance education and training
  • Establish and execute risk-based monitoring and auditing plans
  • Lead or facilitate investigations of suspected non-compliance and oversee corrective and preventive actions
  • Oversee federal and state transparency reporting and healthcare compliance requirements
  • Serve as the Company’s Privacy Officer and oversee its privacy compliance framework
  • Identify and assess emerging compliance risks and translate complex requirements into practical guidance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of relevant legal and/or compliance experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry
  • Significant leadership experience in compliance
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and industry requirements affecting pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and their interactions with healthcare professionals, patients, payers, and other healthcare stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and overseeing an effective healthcare compliance program, including policies and procedures, training, monitoring and auditing, investigations, corrective actions, and compliance risk assessment
  • Experience building or scaling compliance capabilities within a small to mid-sized organization is strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, communication, and influencing skills
  • Executive presence necessary to work effectively with senior leadership and the Board
  • Clear, concise, and persuasive written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex legal and compliance requirements into practical guidance
  • Strong business judgment, intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload, prioritize effectively, and remain responsive as business needs and risks evolve
