About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop the Commercial Finance team of five finance professionals
- Create a high-performing environment where colleagues are supported, challenged and empowered to grow
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting and forecasting across Joint Ventures and Support Office functions
- Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities
- Partner with senior leaders to evaluate commercial opportunities, operational initiatives and investment decisions
- Provide commercial insight, financial leadership and constructive challenge for strategic and operational decisions
- Own finance reporting to the Board and Senior Leadership Team
- Deliver analysis that drives informed discussion and action
- Work with the Data team to develop reporting combining financial, operational and clinical performance information
- Support private service development, activity planning and contract discussions with NHS partners
- Provide financial leadership across Joint Ventures
- Support long-term business planning and sustainable growth
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified Accountant
- Significant post-qualification experience
- Proven track record in a commercially focused finance leadership role
- Highly developed commercial and analytical skills
- Ability to interpret complex information and translate it into meaningful business recommendations
- Ability to make sound decisions in an evolving and ambiguous environment
- Experience coaching and developing finance professionals
- Experience creating high-performing teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Confidence to influence and challenge constructively
- Ability to build effective relationships across the organisation
- Proactive and forward-thinking approach to finance leadership
- Right to work in the UK
- Satisfactory pre-employment checks
