About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work closely with stream-aligned product teams using Extreme Programming practices
- Build reusable golden paths that make correct engineering practices easy to follow
- Design, ship, and operate production services
- Build internal platforms, shared libraries, and paved-road tooling adopted by engineers
- Measure developer-platform effectiveness through adoption, DX/DORA metrics, and developer feedback
- Improve CI/CD and deployment practices, including infrastructure as code, secure pipelines, zero-downtime, and progressive delivery
- Support safe deployment on every commit
- Implement authentication and authorization for APIs and services
- Develop reliability engineering practices using SLOs, error budgets, and OpenTelemetry
- Contribute to Kubernetes and AWS cloud engineering and architecture
- Collaborate with agile product teams to align goals, reduce cognitive load, and enhance security
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strength in designing, shipping, and operating production services
- Golang or Python preferred
- Experience building internal platforms, shared libraries, golden paths, and paved-road tooling
- Experience measuring platform effectiveness through adoption, DX/DORA, and developer feedback
- XP practices including TDD, pair programming, and trunk-based development
- Experience with AI-generated change validated at scale and tight feedback loops
- CI/CD and deployment engineering
- Infrastructure as code
- Secure pipelines, zero-downtime deployment, and progressive delivery
- Authentication and authorization for APIs and services, including OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, and fine-grained permissions
- Reliability engineering, including SLOs, error budgets, and OpenTelemetry observability
- Cloud engineering and architecture
- Kubernetes and AWS, principally EKS, RDS, AmazonMQ, and MSK
- GCP familiarity is advantageous
- Willingness to develop new skills and apply expertise across the stack
