About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct Nursing/Patient Care Services and assist Program Directors with clinical staff management
- Provide guidance on case management, chart reviews, utilization of services reviews, and discharge planning
- Ensure compliance with patient care quality standards for wound care and hyperbaric patients
- Maintain performance improvement and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities
- Oversee and participate in clinical education, including creating content and administering training
- Directly oversee Nursing Administrators and Clinical Auditors
- Manage the Clinical Assessment department and staff, including performance reviews, time-off, coaching, 1-1s, and goal setting
- Oversee patient referrals and charts for treatment eligibility and accuracy
- Travel to clinics for clinical education, new center opening support, and clinical shift coverage
- Participate in employee selection, work assignments, performance evaluations, and staff development
- Conduct annual quality assessments for each clinic and recommend improvements
- Support setup and opening of new clinics, including supplies, equipment, scheduling, patient flow, EMR, education, and patient care standards
- Partner with HR and Training on onboarding, training, and identification of training needs
- Create training courses and educational aids
- Maintain knowledge of wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy standards, including LCDs
- Partner with Revenue Cycle on insurance verifications and timely authorizations
- Maintain relationships with medical directors and support all centers
- Review clinical competency assessments and ensure annual staff competencies
- Participate in policy-forming conferences and problem-solving for Nursing/Patient Care Services
- Coordinate with departments to ensure continuity and collaboration of services
- Verify compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, standards, and protocols
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Registered Nurse graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing
- Current state licensure
- CWS, WCC or WOCN required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from approved agency
- 5+ years management experience required
- 5+ years wound care and/or HBO experience required
- 2+ years clinical training experience required
- 2+ years of experience in charting, billing and insurance authorizations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or related systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to treat others with compassion and patience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
- All employees are required to comply with HIPAA policies and procedures
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN) preferred, or obtain certification within 3 years
- Experience in outpatient clinic and/or hospital operations preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, drive, lift up to 50 pounds, sit for extended periods, look at a computer screen for extended periods, push, pull, stoop, squat, shift heavy objects, and travel by air
