About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and run Node.js/TypeScript services behind the Nexoya app
  • Develop the GraphQL API, ad channel integrations and data ingestion
  • Build new LLM- and agent-based features
  • Own features from design to production
  • Ship backend features end to end on a Kubernetes-based Azure cloud
  • Evolve the GraphQL API with clear schemas and stable contracts
  • Build reliable ad channel integrations and data ingestion with MySQL and RabbitMQ
  • Build AI features such as the in-app assistant using tool calling, retrieval and structured outputs
  • Implement evaluation, monitoring and guardrails for AI features
  • Help evolve the agent harness
  • Raise standards for tests, reviews and documentation
  • Participate in architecture decisions, code reviews and rotating internal support duty

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years as a Backend Engineer with Node.js and TypeScript
  • Solid API design (GraphQL or REST)
  • MySQL experience
  • Experience with message brokers
  • Experience running services on Docker, Kubernetes and a major cloud; Azure preferred
  • Enjoy discussing design trade-offs in writing
  • Care about code others can maintain
  • Fluent English
  • Bonus: ad platform APIs (Google Ads, Meta) or attribution
  • Bonus: AI or agent features in production, including Anthropic/OpenAI APIs, MCP or RAG
  • Bonus: LLM evaluation or observability
  • Bonus: team use of Claude Code or similar
  • Bonus: data pipelines
