About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Implement the organization’s strategic goals, mission, vision, and values through operational plans
  • Manage day-to-day regional operations for the North East region
  • Provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for programs, services, policies, and guidelines
  • Develop and oversee programs to meet or exceed organizational goals
  • Prepare and administer the approved annual budget
  • Manage human resources for the region, including recruitment, performance management, development, and training
  • Advise the Director, Operations on strategic and operational matters
  • Monitor program quality and impact
  • Analyze and report on provincial and regional initiatives, risks, budgets, targets, procedures, processes, and programs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and strategic partners
  • Champion community mobilization and promote CAREERS’ goals and vision
  • Support internal stakeholder needs, including data, reporting, speakers/ambassadors, and investor obligations
  • Establish regional and provincial priorities with the Director, Operations and other Regional Managers
  • Research, develop, and implement organizational procedures, processes, strategies, and tools
  • Monitor operational goals and accountability for Strategic Plan program targets
  • Apply project management practices to new or large projects
  • Lead, mentor, motivate, and support regional Operations team members
  • Build a positive workplace and maximize team retention and contribution
  • Expand strategic partnerships with schools, students, employers, and communities
  • Present organizational messages to executives, parents, schools, students, employers, and other audiences
  • Plan, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate Operations team activities
  • Develop work plans, coordinate priorities, resolve problems, and identify training and resources
  • Research and implement programs and processes aligned with strategic plans and targets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience as a leader in a non-profit, community development, social development, or related role
  • Related experience may include trades occupations, business, or working with youth
  • Post-secondary education required (apprenticeship, college, or university)
  • Excellent technical skills in Office 365 and databases
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license required
  • Incident-free criminal record and child welfare checks required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience or proficiency in process improvement, budget management, resource allocation, regulatory compliance, data analysis, and CRM systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, customer service, problem-solving, and stakeholder relationship skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight and meet targets
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when required
  • Ability to use CRM, SharePoint, and Office365 technologies
