About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report to the Field Service Supervisor
  • Respond as necessary to provide major maintenance and repairs on natural gas compression rental fleet equipment within the assigned region
  • Partner with manufacturing and field service teams to address mechanical and electrical issues during installations, maintenance cycles, and repairs
  • Champion service excellence and HSE policies and standards
  • Drive continuous improvement
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and initiatives
  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and overhauls as directed by supervisory personnel
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose natural gas compressor system failures
  • Optimize compression equipment performance
  • Maintain knowledge of advanced natural gas compressor and engine theory and maintenance
  • Comply with company and customer safety, environmental, and other policies
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Perform trainer duties when required
  • Develop electronic, computer, and leadership skills
  • Present a professional image
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and MVR check
  • DOT physical required
  • Experience as a shop mechanic or field service technician preferred
  • General mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Working knowledge of the oil and gas industry, including the gas compression sector
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic
  • Effective time-management skills and demonstrated ethical behavior
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work on feet for extended periods, up to 10 hours per shift
  • Ability to perform climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and other full-body physical activities
  • Sufficient visual acuity to read diagrams, identify wire markings, measure components, and inspect assemblies
  • Willingness and ability to wear required PPE
  • Ability to travel regularly to and from field locations
