About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Report to the Purchasing Manager of Nidec Conversion
Lead procurement strategy execution for assigned commodities to achieve cost reduction, cash flow, on-time delivery and quality targets
Contribute to project execution through cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Engineering, Production, Project Management and Quality Assurance
Develop supply-base knowledge to optimize interactions with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Purchase materials according to technical specifications, budgets, delivery schedules and terms
Negotiate with key suppliers and renew price lists, rebates, terms and conditions
Initiate purchase orders according to purchase requisitions and standard procedures
Manage the supplier panel for assigned commodities
Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, lead-time and responsiveness issues
Align supplier orders with customer requirements for content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price
Manage on-time-delivery and quality claims and lead related negotiations
Identify and qualify new suppliers with Quality and Engineering specialists
Manage sourcing for electronic components, PCBAs, semiconductors and power electronics
Monitor semiconductor market dynamics, supply constraints, allocation programs, lead times and obsolescence risks
Define mitigation actions and support supplier selection, cost reduction and risk mitigation through dual sourcing, localization and supplier development
Maintain accurate purchasing records for future business decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Excellent Italian and English knowledge; a third language is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience with ERP systems, especially SAP
Knowledge of business economics and supply chain processes
Technical background with supply base knowledge of industrial components
Knowledge of electronic components, PCBAs, semiconductors and industrial power electronics supply chains
Understanding of semiconductor market dynamics, component life cycle management, allocation processes and obsolescence management
Ability to read and interpret electronic Bills of Materials (e-BOM), technical specifications and mechanical drawings
Experience in sourcing and supplier management of PCB manufacturers, EMS providers and electronic component distributors is a strong plus
Familiarity with supply chain risk management techniques, including multi-sourcing, last-time-buy management and inventory optimization
Good project management skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Economics or Supply Chain Management
At least 3 years of experience as a Material Buyer in structured manufacturing companies
Experience in procurement of electronic components, PCBAs, semiconductors or industrial electronic equipment is a strong plus
Education/work experience abroad is a plus
