About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform month-end and year-end full-cycle accounting close processes
  • Prepare, reconcile, and analyze financial statements and investigate discrepancies
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, verify deposits, and address banking questions
  • Receive and post cash and collect outstanding accounts receivable
  • Manage customer invoicing, billings, collections, payment posting, disputes, and chargeback settlements
  • Maintain fixed-asset accounting records
  • Assist external and internal auditors with quarterly and year-end audits by preparing schedules, invoices, explanations, and supporting data
  • Verify accounts payable invoices and ensure expenditures are charged to appropriate accounts
  • Prepare state sales and use tax reports
  • Maintain financial-document records and supporting materials
  • Analyze percentage-of-completion inputs, outputs, and gross margins
  • Support project teams by analyzing vendors’ percentage of completion under ASC 606
  • Lead J-SOX compliance efforts
  • Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and engineering on monthly project cost forecasts
  • Identify and document customer claims related to delays or scope changes and create tracking mechanisms or tools
  • Complete ad hoc projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting and economic principles
  • Accounting background and experience, preferably with full cycle accounting
  • Working knowledge of financial strategies
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Experience with J-SOX and SOX internal control compliance preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to handle multiple high-priority projects accurately
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Ability to deliver quality results in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to tabulate statistical data and compile reports
  • Cost forecasting and scheduling experience or exposure
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to apply accounting principles to Accounts and Finance records
  • Ability to perform varied arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately
  • Professional collaboration with all NCI departments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field required
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience required
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP preferred
  • Exposure to international financial accounting and multi-currency reporting highly desirable
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted
  • Ability to perform the listed physical activities and lift up to 25 lbs. if required
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, nights and/or holidays, as needed
  • Must complete required safety training and wear required PPE
