About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Respond to demand using ERP software
Create RFx packages
Research and identify prospective suppliers and manufacturers
Negotiate prices and delivery schedules with vendors
Award vendors based on capability, price, and risk factors
Monitor and control orders after placement, maintaining records in ERP, company databases, and Microsoft Office reporting tools
Expedite orders as required, including occasional visits to vendor locations
Track and organize off-site testing at vendor locations with the project management team
Review order and certification-package completeness with the quality team to provide shipping release
Ensure completion of open ERP items to assist accounts payable with invoices
Assist in reviewing potential vendors for compatibility with the ACD supply chain management system
Provide weekly status reports to the Purchasing Manager on open and upcoming orders
Attend internal and external meetings as an active, prepared participant
Participate in workshops, seminars, and training events

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
Two+ years’ experience in a similar position
Exceptional attention to detail
Competence with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
Knowledge and use of Manfact or similar ERP system is required
Knowledge and use of a database system is strongly preferred
Skilled in operating standard office machines, including printer, scanner, and fax
Industry knowledge or willingness to learn
Team-based approach
Ability to perform required physical activities, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping or kneeling, talking and hearing, and using fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls
May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to work with inter- and intra-departmental teams, including in the absence of supervision at times
Compliance with required safety training and PPE requirements
