About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Disassemble, analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild cryogenic pumps, accessories, and motors
  • Read, interpret, and work from drawings, schematics, and work instructions
  • Operate drill press, hydraulic press, bench grinder, pipe threading machine, pipe bender, cutting torch, band saw, and other shop equipment
  • Analyze damaged parts to identify field-operation causes and improve reliability
  • Assemble cryogenic pump components and fit, align, and adjust bearings, seals, and other components to close tolerances
  • Document assembly clearances for engineering review and approval
  • Inspect work for conformance with specifications, instructions, customer requirements, and standard operating procedures
  • Rework parts and contribute to failure analysis when requested
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work area according to 5S principles
  • Follow quality, engineering, sales, safety, OSHA, IMS, and company procedures
  • Coordinate, participate in, and potentially lead safety meetings
  • Ensure safety and compliance measures are met and lead the shop’s 5S initiative
  • Maintain regular attendance and meet production schedules with an 80% or better on-time rate
  • Provide technical guidance to customers and coordinate service-related issues
  • Coach and mentor other department positions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 7-8 years of mechanical experience
  • Cryogenic pump experience is ideal
  • Experience in the industrial manufacturing industry preferred
  • Ability to read prints and schematics
  • Analytical skills for cryogenic pumps
  • Balancing skills related to cryogenic pump repair
  • Inspection skills on machinery
  • Knowledge of basic AC/DC circuitry
  • Understanding of materials of construction
  • Understanding of system components, including regulators, valves, solenoids, and pressure relief devices
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Communication, organization, initiative, teamwork, customer focus, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to lift 50-100 pounds
  • Ability to complete safety training requirements and wear required PPE
  • Ability to work in a workshop environment and travel to customer sites as needed
