About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Disassemble, analyze, troubleshoot, and rebuild cryogenic pumps, accessories, and motors
  • Read, interpret, and work from drawings
  • Operate drill press, hydraulic press, bench grinder, pipe threading machine, pipe bender, cutting torch, band saw, and other shop equipment
  • Analyze part condition and causes of field damage to communicate with customers and improve reliability
  • Assemble cryogenic pump components
  • Fit, align, and adjust components, including bearings and seals, to close tolerances
  • Document assembly clearances for engineering review and approval
  • Check work against specifications, instructions, customer requirements, drawings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
  • Perform troubleshooting and rework parts when necessary
  • Contribute to failure analysis when requested
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work area according to 5S principles
  • Follow quality, engineering, sales, safety, OSHA, and company procedures
  • Maintain regular attendance to meet production schedules
  • Provide technical guidance to customers
  • Communicate with customers about service evaluations and service-related issues
  • Meet customer and company production schedules at 80% on time or better
  • Support QMS requirements and compliance with international, state, and federal regulations
  • Complete safety training, report safety issues, and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ability to read prints and schematics
  • Analytical skills for cryogenic pumps
  • Balancing skills related to cryogenic pump repair
  • Ability to operate a laser alignment machine
  • Thorough understanding of precision measuring instruments
  • Detailed dimensional inspections of used components
  • Knowledge of basic AC/DC circuitry
  • Understanding of materials of construction
  • Understanding of various system components, including regulators, valves, solenoids, and pressure relief devices
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to use smartphones, tablets, and handheld data entry devices
  • Team player
  • Communication skills – verbal, listening, interaction
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of experience in shop environment
  • Installation, maintenance, repair of mechanical and electrical systems experience preferred
  • Machining experience preferred
  • Welder certifications preferred
  • Cryogenic experience preferred
  • Drivers’ license preferred
  • Ability to lift 50-100 pounds
  • Ability to complete safety training requirements
  • Ability to wear Nikkiso-approved PPE as needed
  • Ability to work extended hours as workload dictates
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted if it provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Ability to work at customer sites when required
