About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Disassemble, analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild cryogenic pumps, accessories, motors, and components
- Read and interpret drawings, prints, schematics, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
- Operate drill press, hydraulic press, bench grinder, pipe threading machine, pipe bender, cutting torch, band saw, and other shop equipment
- Analyze damaged parts to identify field-operation causes and improve reliability
- Assemble cryogenic pump components
- Fit, align, and adjust components, bearings, seals, and units to close tolerances
- Document assembly clearances for engineering review and approval
- Inspect work for conformance to specifications, instructions, drawings, and customer requirements
- Rework parts and perform troubleshooting as needed
- Contribute to failure analysis
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas according to 5S principles
- Follow quality, engineering, sales, safety, OSHA, IMS, and regulatory procedures
- Coordinate, participate in, and potentially lead safety meetings
- Ensure safety and compliance measures are met and lead the shop’s 5S initiative
- Provide technical guidance to customers and communicate about service evaluations and service-related issues
- Meet customer and company production schedules at a rate of 80% on time or better
- Coach and mentor other department positions
- Maintain regular attendance and perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- 7-8 years of mechanical experience
- Cryogenic pump experience is ideal
- Experience in the industrial manufacturing industry preferred
- Ability to read prints and schematics
- Analytical skills for cryogenic pumps
- Balancing skills related to cryogenic pump repair
- Inspection skills on machinery
- Knowledge of basic AC/DC circuitry
- Understanding of materials of construction
- Understanding of system components, including regulators, valves, solenoids, and pressure relief devices
- Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to explain clearly, listen to client feedback, and relay information to colleagues
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to lift 50-100 pounds
- Ability to complete safety training requirements
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE
- Ability to work in a workshop environment and potentially at customer sites
- Must maintain consistent and regular attendance
- Must comply with OSHA standards, regulations, and company safety policies
