About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Disassemble, analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild cryogenic pumps, accessories, and motors
  • Operate drill press, hydraulic press, bench grinder, pipe threading machine, pipe bender, cutting torch, band saw, and other shop equipment
  • Analyze damaged parts and communicate findings to customers to improve reliability
  • Assemble cryogenic pump components
  • Fit, align, and adjust components, including bearings and seals, to close tolerances
  • Document assembly clearances for engineering review and approval
  • Inspect work for conformance to specifications, drawings, work instructions, and customer requirements
  • Rework parts and contribute to failure analysis when requested
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas according to 5S principles
  • Coordinate, participate in, and potentially lead safety meetings
  • Ensure safety and compliance measures are met and lead the shop’s 5S initiative
  • Provide technical guidance to customers and communicate regarding service evaluations and service-related issues
  • Meet customer and company production schedules at 80% on time or better
  • Support IMS requirements and comply with international, state, and federal regulations
  • Coach and mentor other departmental positions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 7–8 years of mechanical experience
  • Cryogenic pump experience is ideal
  • Experience in the industrial manufacturing industry preferred
  • Ability to read prints and schematics
  • Analytical skills for cryogenic pumps
  • Balancing skills related to cryogenic pump repair
  • Machinery inspection skills
  • Knowledge of basic AC/DC circuitry
  • Understanding of materials of construction
  • Understanding of system components, including regulators, valves, solenoids, and pressure relief devices
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Communication, organization, initiative, teamwork, customer focus, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to lift 50–100 pounds
  • Ability to work in a workshop environment and potentially at customer sites
  • Ability to complete safety training and comply with OSHA standards and company safety procedures
