About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Repair cryogenic pumps to high-quality standards
  • Disassemble, analyze, troubleshoot, rebuild, and optimize cryogenic pumps, accessories, and motors
  • Read, interpret, and work from drawings, prints, schematics, and work instructions
  • Operate drill press, hydraulic press, bench grinder, pipe threading machine, pipe bender, cutting torch, band saw, and other shop equipment
  • Analyze damaged parts and communicate findings to customers to improve reliability
  • Assemble cryogenic pump components
  • Fit, align, and adjust components, bearings, seals, and units to close tolerances
  • Document assembly clearances for engineering review and approval
  • Inspect work for compliance with specifications, customer requirements, drawings, and standard operating procedures
  • Rework parts and perform troubleshooting as needed
  • Contribute to failure analysis
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work area according to 5S principles
  • Follow quality, engineering, sales, safety, OSHA, and company procedures
  • Coordinate, participate in, and potentially lead safety meetings
  • Ensure safety and compliance measures are met and lead the shop’s 5S initiative
  • Provide technical guidance to customers and communicate regarding service evaluations and service-related issues
  • Meet production schedules at a rate of 80% on time or better
  • Support IMS requirements and compliance with international, state, and federal regulations
  • Coach and mentor other department positions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 7-8 years of mechanical experience
  • Cryogenic pump experience is ideal
  • Experience in the industrial manufacturing industry preferred
  • Ability to read prints and schematics
  • Analytical skills for cryogenic pumps
  • Balancing skills related to cryogenic pump repair
  • Inspection skills on machinery
  • Knowledge of basic AC/DC circuitry
  • Understanding of materials of construction
  • Understanding of system components including regulators, valves, solenoids, and pressure relief devices
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Communication skills, including explaining clearly, listening to client feedback, and relaying it to colleagues
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to lift 50-100 pounds
  • Ability to work in a shop environment and potentially at customer sites
  • Must complete safety training requirements
  • Must wear appropriate PPE as required
  • Must report safety issues and concerns promptly
