About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of materials, components, weldments, assemblies, and finished equipment
  • Inspect equipment and fabricated components for compliance with company quality requirements, customer specifications, engineering drawings, and applicable ASME Code requirements
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, weld symbols, inspection requirements, and technical documentation
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections using precision measuring and inspection equipment
  • Verify material identification, certifications, heat/lot traceability, and documentation for pressure-retaining and critical components
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, workmanship, materials, welds, and overall product conformity
  • Review manufacturing and quality documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
  • Develop, complete, and maintain inspection records and quality documentation
  • Place materials, components, assemblies, or finished products on quality hold when nonconformances are identified and escalate them appropriately
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality personnel to resolve inspection findings and quality concerns
  • Verify inspection and test equipment calibration and suitability
  • Compile inspection and test data and prepare quality reports and supporting documentation
  • Support customer, third-party, and authorized inspector activities
  • Identify recurring quality issues, inspection trends, and systematic problems; communicate findings to Quality leadership for corrective and preventive action
  • Assist in determining inspection priorities while supporting production schedules and quality standards
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and inspection support to less experienced inspectors
  • Maintain organized, current inspection records and quality-document traceability
  • Follow company quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform other assigned duties and quality-related activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible quality inspection experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, pressure vessel, process piping, or similar industrial environment preferred
  • Demonstrated experience independently performing in-process and final inspections
  • Experience inspecting pressure-retaining components, heat exchangers, vaporizers, and pressure vessels
  • Working knowledge of ASME Code Sections VIII and IX requirements applicable to pressure vessels and/or process piping
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, technical specifications, weld symbols, and dimensional tolerances
  • Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures
  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication inspection practices
  • Experience supporting Authorized Inspector, customer, or third-party inspections
  • Experience identifying, documenting, and communicating nonconforming conditions
  • Experience preparing inspection reports, maintaining quality records, and compiling inspection/test data
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High visual awareness, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple inspections and assignments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System
  • CWI, NDE Level II, or other recognized inspection certification preferred
  • Experience inspecting pressure vessels, process piping, skids, or other engineered-to-order industrial equipment
  • Familiarity with ASME Sections VIII, IX, V, and II and applicable piping codes
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, work at varying heights and positions, and lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and manufacturing conditions
  • Required personal protective equipment must be worn
