About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the technical lead for the SRE function, setting technical direction and mentoring engineers
Analyze, troubleshoot, and remediate production issues
Participate in a weekly 12x7 on-call rotation, including weekend deployments and Sunday pre-market checkouts
Perform initial root cause analysis and remediation of production incidents
Build tools to automate repetitive tasks, deployments, and incident responses
Design monitoring and alerting systems and establish and track SLIs/SLOs across web, mobile, desktop, and trading platforms
Use Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform to automate provisioning, scaling, and management
Collaborate with Product Engineering, Operations, Product, and QA teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance features
Implement security and compliance best practices, including SOC 2 and PCI DSS, throughout the software delivery lifecycle
Help maintain 99.95% uptime and high performance across NinjaTrader's trading platform

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering roles
Expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, including GitHub Actions or equivalent
Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go
Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or Helm
Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
In-depth knowledge of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments
Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar monitoring and observability tools
Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to influence technical decisions across teams and mentor junior engineers
