About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Incident Commander in executing the Emergency Preparedness & Response plan during incidents
- Create, support, and execute emergency response training plans and scenario exercises for all incident levels
- Lead the incident management team in executing plans across states and operations groups
- Lead After Action Reviews and the corrective action process through completion
- Apply lessons learned to the emergency and incident command structure and share changes with the organization according to API RP173 requirements
- Develop and support technology strategies for maintaining, updating, and executing emergency preparedness and response plans
- Build and maintain relationships with utility leaders, local emergency management agencies, public safety organizations, and other officials
- Lead highly collaborative projects across company departments and states
- Provide emergency preparedness and response information for regulatory filings
- Manage continuous improvements to emergency plans and incident processes
- Track changes and improvements to emergency plans
- Identify, track, and update employees assigned to Incident Command System roles
- Ensure retention of incident-related documentation
- Safeguard organizational assets and the safety and well-being of employees and served communities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in developing emergency management programs
- Completion of ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, and NIMS 700 and 800
- Valid driver's license required
- State-level or IAEM Certified Emergency Manager certification required or must be obtained within twelve months of employment
- Certification or ability to obtain certification within twelve months of employment as a trainer for NIMS or ICS training and/or exercise practice is preferred
- Completion of the FEMA Professional Development Series must be obtained within one year of employment
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future
- Ability to support emergency response efforts outside normal hours and assist with tasks outside typical responsibilities
