About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform industry, competitor, and customer analyses
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of trends and identify opportunities and barriers
- Gather and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to inform strategic decisions
- Track, validate, and report initiative performance, including risks and upsides
- Build and maintain Excel-based models to analyze data and evaluate financial and strategic tradeoffs
- Leverage enterprise risk information to assess primary and secondary risk impacts
- Use risk registers, dashboards, tracking metrics, and mitigation monitoring for enterprise risk integration
- Identify and frame issues, problems, and opportunities and develop practical solutions
- Develop and update materials for executive presentations
- Compile, organize, and format data for internal and external reporting
- Research reporting considerations and support adoption of new reporting requirements
- Develop business cases and supporting financial models
- Lead assigned project tasks under Strategy leadership direction
- Manage deliverables, timelines, and resource coordination while escalating risks and issues
- Communicate strategic recommendations to senior leadership
- Support emergency response efforts and tasks outside typical responsibilities when needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; 4–6 years for Lead level
- Experience using Excel to analyze data
- Experience applying economic, statistic, and econometric concepts/methods
- Experience producing accurate and timely work with minimal supervision
- Experience identifying and resolving complex problems and managing conflicts
- Experience leading and coordinating projects and supervising the work of others
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Word
- Experience handling large amounts of data and building financial or other decision-support models in Excel
- Advanced PowerPoint storytelling ability
- Advanced interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to represent the company to external stakeholders and provide presentation preparation and leadership to senior executives
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to handle highly confidential information
- Occasional travel of 5–10% might be required
- Ability to work outside traditional business hours when required
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future
- Preferred: previous electric or gas utility experience
- Preferred: experience with failure mode, stochastic modeling, cause analysis, fault tree, quantitative analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, or similar tools
- Preferred: Master of Business Administration
- Preferred: operational excellence experience
- Preferred: project management experience
