About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities and develop appropriate solutions
- Compile, organize, and format data for internal and external reporting
- Research reporting issues, provide recommendations, and assist with adopting new reporting requirements
- Gather data and prepare regulatory schedules, pro-forma calculations, testimony, and data requests
- Review and analyze regulatory documents
- Reconcile the third-party shadow settlement system and financial statements
- Design test scripts and perform Sarbanes-Oxley internal-controls testing
- Apply technical knowledge to processes, procedures, and tasks
- Analyze MISO transmission and energy markets and understand market settlement processes
- Develop collaborative solutions across ES&O, Accounting, and Rates
- Verify and prepare documentation related to the MISO cash settlement process
- Document work fully and accurately
- Identify, analyze, and improve organizational processes for efficiency and effectiveness
- Support emergency response efforts when required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Requires 4 year degree in business discipline
- 4-6 years experience in Finance, Accounting, Regulatory or a related field
- Requires knowledge of PC applications
- Knowledge proficiency of Finance and Accounting principles, including relationships between balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow
- Knowledge proficiency of MISO charge types and settlement statements
- Experience operating a third-party shadow settlement system
- Ability to analyze information from varied sources and make recommendations
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines while maintaining quality
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel pivot tables, macro creation, statistical analysis, data scrubbing, and Power BI dashboards or other data analytics tools
- Presentation skills and verbal and written communication skills
- Experience writing prompts for use in Copilot
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future
- MBA and multiple functional experience preferred
