About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise Cost Analysts performing assigned project cost analysis duties
- Oversee testing and compliance with assigned SOX controls
- Lead monthly multi-department reallocation exercises and provide status reporting
- Provide monthly capital variance reporting and explanations to company executives
- Supervise processing of customer CIACs and tracking of reimbursable projects
- Improve cost analysis and integrated cost and schedule forecasting using quantitative risk management tools, Expected Monetary Value, and Sensitivity Analysis
- Develop qualitative integrated project baselines to measure project performance and enable corrective, preventive, and predictive action
- Apply integrated objective risk management and cost of quality to project cost management
- Orchestrate contract commercial management, facilitate contract payments, and conduct contract performance assessment, reporting, reviews, and forecasting
- Apply project controls expertise and coordinate project management guidelines, standards, processes, job aids, and tools
- Integrate project management subsidiary systems to improve project performance
- Direct and tailor cost management efforts, processes, tools, and techniques
- Provide life-cycle cost estimating and forecasting
- Manage project budgets and cost performance baselines
- Process labor timesheets, invoices, and contract labor submittals; code invoice details and assist with accruals
- Evaluate manpower, labor hours, and labor costs against budgets; perform cost and schedule analysis and recommend corrective/preventive actions
- Manage project Estimates at Completion and recommend improvements to stakeholders
- Produce standard and advanced project cost reports for stakeholders
- Use schedule analysis techniques to optimize schedule and cost performance
- Apply project management proficiency across scope, cost, schedule, risk, quality, and integration
- Assist project management teams, Major Project Managers, Directors, and stakeholders with cost management information and reporting
- Drive effective project cost decision-making through integrated communication
- Manage according to industry standards, NiSource Project Management Guidelines and Standards, and industry best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma
- 8 years of experience working in Microsoft Excel or equivalent software, with responsibilities for data manipulation, integration, and report generation
- 4 years of financial / cost management experience
- Experience developing/reviewing project estimates, building project budgets, and reading/analyzing project schedules
- Integrated knowledge of project scope-schedule-cost and risk-quality management
- Integrated comprehension and application of project management subsidiary guidelines, standards, processes, and job aids
- Integrated proficiency in risk and quality management tools and techniques
- Leadership, stakeholder management, communication, conflict resolution, teamwork, and team-building skills
- Valid in-state driver's license upon hire
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred: 4+ years of experience working in Microsoft Excel or equivalent software in data manipulation, integration, and report generation
- Preferred: Experience in large industrial capital project environments
