About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and analyze system requirements to define scope, objectives, and technical specifications
  • Design, develop, test, and implement new software applications and enhancements to existing systems
  • Develop software components, modules, and services aligned with product specifications and project timelines
  • Participate in architectural design sessions and contribute to system and subsystem planning
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop effective solutions within operational constraints
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for code, processes, and procedures
  • Review change requests and identify potential risks or recommend mitigation actions
  • Collaborate with technical staff, business analysts, and project managers to clarify requirements and ensure successful delivery
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and version control practices
  • Establish, revise, and enhance coding standards, security best practices, and compliance requirements
  • Provide technical mentorship and hands-on support to junior and mid-level developers through troubleshooting, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and pair-programming
  • Participate in all phases of the rapid software development life cycle, from planning and design through testing, deployment, and ongoing support
  • Serve as a technical expert and deliver high-quality solutions quickly and on schedule

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • US Citizenship with ability to successfully obtain a federal background investigation (CBP BI)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to work hybrid at client location in Ashburn, VA
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in software development or a related IT discipline
  • Demonstrated experience with Java and JavaScript
  • Python
  • Angular and Node.js / Spring Boot
  • SQL and NoSQL databases
  • REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, and microservices
  • Gitlab and runners, and Harness
  • Docker
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and version control tools
  • Strong technical analysis skills and ability to develop solutions within system and performance constraints
  • Experience supporting government or federal IT systems preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies preferred
  • Experience serving as a technical lead preferred
  • Understanding of security and compliance standards within government environments preferred
  • Relevant professional certifications preferred
  • Experience designing and implementing automated unit, integration, and functional tests preferred
  • Mobile development and testing platforms preferred
  • Secret or above clearance and Level 4 Public Trust
