About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise the Partner Engagement Unit and assigned staff
  • Plan, assign, and monitor daily unit activities
  • Coordinate schedules, travel, meetings, and outreach events
  • Review reports and work products for accuracy and compliance
  • Provide staff training, guidance, and performance evaluations
  • Adjust staffing and resources to meet operational and strategic priorities
  • Ensure accountability and effective coordination with external partners
  • Ensure outreach activities, communications, and partner engagements comply with agency policies, procedures, and requirements
  • Manage liaison activities with county-threat coordinators and municipal counter-threat coordinators
  • Facilitate information sharing with faith-based organizations and community members through the Interfaith Advisory Council
  • Coordinate communication and alignment among NJOHSP, the New Jersey State Police Critical Infrastructure Bureau, and the ROIC Threat Analysis Unit
  • Report directly to the Mission Support Bureau Chief

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • One of the following experience/education combinations: nine (9) years of professional experience in civil or criminal investigations, including investigative reports, with one year as a team leader or lead investigator; or nine (9) years in investigative administrative audits and/or regulatory examinations, with one year as a team leader or lead investigator; or nine (9) years conducting investigations for government, military, consumer protection programs, public advocacy organizations, or the public interest, with one year as a team leader or lead investigator; or a bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of the specified professional experience, including one year as a team leader or lead investigator; or a juris doctorate or master's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, Law, or a related field, plus four (4) years of the specified professional experience, including one year as a team leader or lead investigator
  • Thirty (30) semester-hour credits equal one (1) year of relevant experience
  • A supervised 300-hour undergraduate Criminal Justice or related internship may substitute for one year of non-supervisory experience
  • Professional experience must be creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive, requiring specialized knowledge and independent judgment
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license required only when vehicle operation is necessary for essential duties
  • U.S. citizenship required to be eligible for Secret or Top-Secret federal clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance
  • Successful criminal and personal background investigation
  • New Jersey residency required within one year of employment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules, priorities, and outreach demands
  • Professionalism and confidence engaging diverse communities, including faith-based organizations
  • Understanding of law enforcement operations and protocols
  • Foreign degrees require a U.S. equivalency evaluation
