About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and maintain hybrid infrastructure across on-premises bare-metal fleets and AWS cloud
Build and evolve Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and Terragrunt
Manage configuration with Puppet and Ansible across both environments
Maintain and improve routing, load balancing, tunneling, and security features
Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform delivery
Participate in incident response and contribute to postmortems
Apply AI tools to reduce toil and improve automation, tooling, and incident response
Collaborate with Product and engineering teams to translate business needs into infrastructure solutions
Improve team processes and ways of working

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of hands-on Linux systems/infrastructure experience
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: IPv4, routing, bridging, proxies, and DNS
Practical production experience with AWS, including EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, and ECS
Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
CI/CD pipeline experience; GitLab CI preferred
Comfortable scripting with Bash and Python
Genuine enthusiasm for AI tools and workflows, with hands-on experience applying them to infrastructure work
Experience with reusable Terraform modules is a bonus
Configuration management experience with Puppet and/or Ansible is a bonus
Experience with Unix network tools and tunneling protocols including iptables, nftables, OpenVPN, IPSec, WireGuard, Bind, and PowerDNS is a bonus
Applied cybersecurity principles including least privilege, defense in depth, and secrets management is a bonus
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, LXC, microVMs, or ECS is a bonus
AWS SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect Associate certification is a bonus
Experience with Terragrunt is a bonus
