About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and coordinate road projects for the MTMD
- Act as the primary representative with the client and various stakeholders
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the activities of project teams
- Lead and support inspection or design teams and ensure their engagement
- Monitor work progress, costs, schedules, and deliverables
- Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, standards, contractual requirements, and quality standards
- Track quantities, completed work, and payment requests
- Participate in managing changes, issues, non-conformities, and claims
- Coordinate communications with the client, contractors, professionals, and other stakeholders
- Lead and participate in site and project meetings
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of reports, meeting minutes, and progress-tracking documents
- Identify risks and implement the necessary mitigation measures
- Ensure the quality of services provided and compliance with MTMD requirements
- Contribute to business development and maintain strong client relationships
- Participate in preparing proposals and developing new mandates
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Minimum of 16 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, project management, or road infrastructure
- Significant experience managing and/or inspecting road projects
- Experience with projects delivered for the MTMD is a strong asset
- Strong knowledge of standards, methods, and practices applicable to MTMD road projects
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and inspection personnel
- Excellent project management, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Leadership, professional judgment, and a high degree of autonomy
- Valid driver’s licence
- Willingness to travel to different project sites as required
