About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality
  • Provide onsite assistance to complete construction projects on time and within budget
  • Monitor the availability and costs of materials and equipment
  • Relay instructions to construction laborers
  • Assist with everyday activities at the wind farm during the erection and commissioning phase
  • Assist the Erection and Commissioning Manager in coordinating erection and commissioning activities for wind turbine generators from beginning to Take Over Certification
  • Assist with mobilization of heavy equipment, including cranes, mechanical and electrical erection equipment, and transportation equipment
  • Organize and track quality control and transportation documents
  • Interact with customers and contractors during wind farm construction
  • Maintain and promote safety standards throughout operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent related work experience accepted
  • Preferred 3 years of mechanical/construction experience; Wind Farm mechanical construction experience preferred
  • Experience in quality management and quality control processes; Wind Turbine Assembly experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions
  • Ability to spend 100% of the time at the wind farms during the erection and commissioning process
  • Ability to manage personnel and interface with the customers and contractors
  • Ability to manage contractors, sub-contractors, and the public
  • Demonstrated ability to manage several activities at once, organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, and prepare reports
  • WTG on-site assembly experience preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish/German a plus; English and French proficiency is a requirement
  • 80% to 90% travel required
  • Ability to meet specific OSHA and ANSI weight limits of 250 to 300lbs. max
  • Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s auto insurance policy
  • Strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures
  • Ability to ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
  • Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
  • Ability to properly use applicable safety equipment, including eye protection, hearing protectors, steel-toe boots, and hard hats
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure a safe working environment
  • Must speak and understand English fluently to communicate safety and job-related information and collaborate with English-speaking supervisors and team members
