About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide daily onsite assistance to the Site Manager during wind farm erection and commissioning
- Support completion of erection and commissioning activities on time and within budget
- Coordinate activities during erection and commissioning of wind turbine generators from project start through Take Over Certification
- Assist with mobilization of heavy equipment, including cranes, mechanical and electrical erection equipment, and transportation equipment
- Organize and track quality-control and transportation documents
- Interact with customers and contractors during wind farm construction
- Operate the wind farm when the Site Manager is on rotation or PTO
- Promote and maintain safety standards
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Communicate with team members and management to maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associates in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent related work experience accepted
- Preferred 3 years of mechanical/construction experience; Wind Farm mechanical construction experience preferred
- Experience in quality management and quality control processes; Wind Turbine Assembly experience preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
- Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions
- Ability to spend 100% of the time at wind farms during the erection and commissioning process
- Ability to manage personnel and interface with customers and contractors
- Ability to manage contractors, sub-contractors, and the public
- Demonstrated ability to manage several activities at once, organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, and prepare reports
- WTG on-site assembly experience preferred
- 80-90% travel required
- Ability to travel to domestic and international project locations and obtain a passport
- Ability to meet specific OSHA and ANSI weight limits of 265 lbs. or less
- Must pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner
- Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s auto insurance policy
- Strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
- Ability to properly use safety equipment, including eye protection, hearing protectors, steel-toe boots, and hard hats
- Fluent spoken and understood English required for safety and job-related communication
