About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the negotiation, execution and management of customer, supplier and project-related contracts throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support sales, tendering and business development activities by reviewing, negotiating and structuring commercial agreements
  • Provide commercial leadership and guidance to project, operational and sales teams
  • Identify, assess and manage commercial and contractual risks
  • Manage contractual obligations, compliance requirements, notices, deliverables and critical contract milestones
  • Prepare, evaluate and negotiate claims, contract variations, Extensions of Time (EOTs), deeds and other contractual amendments
  • Drive effective contract administration and maintain accurate contractual records and documentation
  • Support project acquisition activities and strategic business growth initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and key stakeholders
  • Ensure commercial outcomes align with project objectives, budget requirements and business strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in commercial management, contract management or project commercial roles within renewable energy, energy, infrastructure, engineering or construction sectors
  • Proven experience negotiating and administering complex contracts
  • Strong expertise in claims, contract variations, Extensions of Time (EOTs) and commercial risk management
  • Solid understanding of project delivery models, including EPC, TSA, service and maintenance agreements
  • Strong knowledge of Australian commercial practices and contractual frameworks within the energy sector
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Commerce, Business, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
  • Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence at all organisational levels
  • Strategic and analytical thinking
  • Ability to balance commercial opportunity with contractual and project risk
  • Highly organised, proactive and resilient
